The presentation will focus on why active learning and student engagement are essential in learning-centred teaching and some instructional strategies for promoting active learning and student engagement in the classroom will be explored.

The training aims to enhance colleagues’ teaching skills, with which colleagues will be able to facilitate more effective teaching and learning at UM. This training will cover topics such as principles of learning, university policies related to T&L, fundamental concepts of course design and e-learning tools including MyUM, SIWeb, UMMoodle, and UM.Yuja.com.
This training programme is offered once a year to train new graduate students to be more effective teaching assistants at UM.
