On 20 March, Prof. Bing SHUI from the Faculty of Law, recipient of UM’s Teaching Excellence Award for the academic year of 2017/2018, gave a presentation entitled ‘How to Help Law Students Think Like Lawyers’ in CTLE Spring Workshop Series.

During his presentation, Prof. Shui discussed that lawyers’ thinking would normally be composed of three aspects: professional knowledge, problem consciousness and common sense of life. He also shared three examples used in classes to help students develop legal thinking.

In addition, he also expressed that classes should be student-centred, and that instructors should bear in mind students’ future careers and therefore should do their best to enhance students’ learning at university. After graduation, these students would hopefully become talents crucial for the development of Macao and our country. [PPT for download]
