Best Practices for Supporting Teaching and Learning Online:

Our Eyes and Our Screen Time

With online teaching and learning in full swing at UM, we wish to share tips on eye health.

It is widely recommended that we take regular breaks from the screen: ‘Macular degeneration makes people lose focus from the centre of their eye out.’

We can help prevent digital eye strain by practising a general rule is called the 20/20/20 rule:

for every 20 minutes a person is working, they take a 20-second break, looking at something 20 feet away.

For those of us who are already experiencing early warning signs of eye strain, which include headaches, dry eyes or eye fatigue, it is especially important that we help ourselves with this 20/20/20suggestion.

Remember: take regular breaks, be kind to our bodies 😊

做好護眼三步曲,看屏眼睛不過勞

隨著澳大全面開展在線教學,我們希望與各位澳大人分享有關眼部健康的貼士。

廣泛建議師生定期離開螢幕,並進行小休息,因為長時間面對螢幕,眼睛的黃斑部會退化,可能會使人們出現視力模糊。眼睛疲勞早期預警信號包括頭痛、眼睛乾澀或疲倦勞等。

我們可以通過一個名為〝20/20/20〞的規則來防止眼睛疲勞:

每工作20分鐘-休息20秒-觀看距離20英尺(6米)的景物。

希望各位都記住以上的〝20/20/20〞規則保護眼睛,並定期休息,善待自己的健康😊
