About the workshop:
Supporting neurodiversity has become increasingly critical in higher education. This workshop reviews the global trend as well as the efficacy of inclusive practice and strategic accommodations, drawing on the speaker’s professional expertise in the area of autism spectrum as occupational therapist and Consultant of Institute of Special Needs and Inclusive Education. The conceptual framework of Positive Psychology, Multiple Intelligences and Positive Behavior Support are outlined. It then extends the discussion to interactive case studies of autism spectrum, considering how holistic and evidence-informed learning- teaching practice can be adopted to connect to student success across diverse higher education systems.
Bio of speaker:
Dr. Eria Li is Consultant of Institute of Special Needs and Inclusive Education at the Education University of Hong Kong and Honorary Consultant to Autism Hong Kong. Eria has had a strong track record of clinical practice, university teaching, thesis supervision and examination, action research, academic writing and consultancy of service development. Eria ‘s research and publication focus on positive education, teacher education, positive parenting, home-school support, twice exceptional, autism spectrum and ADHD/ADD.
