About Professional Development Requirement

“All newly hired full time academic staff with the rank of Instructor, Senior Instructor, Lecturer or Assistant Professor with less than five years teaching experience in higher education are required to participate in a total of 12 hours of events on professional development for teaching and learning during their first two years of service at the University of Macau.”

The professional development events will be sponsored by CTLE. CTLE will provide documentation for academic staff of their participation in the professional development events and/or the Faculty Learning Communities. Academic staff can find their participation record in the Academic Staff Portfolio System (go to the section of Teaching-Other Activities and Accomplishments in Education and open the tab of Part V). The record shall be uploaded and displayed within 10 working days after the event.
