Registration Guidelines

The STEM Mini-Symposium is open to UM Academic and Administrators, Macau teachers and all interested parties. The program will provide a venue where faculty members, academic staff, students and the public can come together to share, present work and exchange ideas. Participants who attended the whole program will be awarded a certificate of participation documenting their participation and intended outcomes of participation are listed as follows.

Participants will:

  • Develop and expand their network of academic colleagues in China, Hong Kong, Singapore and U.S.
  • Develop a deeper understanding of key issues with respect to the development of STEM Education at a variety of institution types.
  • Be able to articulate key challenges in STEM Teaching and Learning and to propose solutions to address the challenges.
  • Engage in conversations with international experts regarding student learning with a focus on STEM Education.

 2.5 Smart Points will be awarded to student for full participation

Smart Point Awarding Rules and Promotion:

Activity LESS than or EQUAL to 1 hour (0.5SP)

 1. Students who attend the WHOLE activity and arrive ON TIME will be given 0.5 Smart Point
2. Students who arrive late or leave early over than 5 minutes will NOT be given any Smart Point
3. Students who leave the venue during the activity for over 10 minutes will NOT be given any Smart Point
4. Students are required to check in/out of the activity with Student ID Card. For those who do not respect the activity or neglect the staff’s guidance, SAO reserves the right to cancel his/her Smart Point

Activity MORE than 1 hour (1SP)

1. Students who attend the WHOLE activity and arrive ON TIME will be given one Smart Point
2. Students who arrive late or leave early within 10 minutes will be given only half a Smart Point
3. Students who arrive late or leave early over 10 minutes will NOT be given any Smart Point
4. Students who leave the venue during the activity for over 15 minutes will NOT be given any Smart Point
5. Students are required to check in/out of the activity with Student ID Card. For those who do not respect the activity or neglect the staff’s guidance, SAO reserves the right to cancel his/her Smart Point

The socring of SP will be generated after 15 days in every activity
