Abstract:
The young man researching in the lab remains the resolute image of PhD research. Yet this iconography is misleading. Tara offers a new andragogy for doctoral education, one that creates a culture of success for the new cohorts within higher education and higher degrees. Her 4D model works through multimodal interfaces and offers a post-fordist and customized experience for students, while maintaining quality assurance and international standards.
Bio:
Tara Brabazon is the Dean of Graduate Research and the Professor of Cultural Studies at Flinders University, Australia. Tara has worked in nine universities in four countries and is the author of 18 books and over 200 refereed articles and book chapters. A columnist for the Times Higher Education, she has won six teaching awards during her career, was a finalist for Australian of the Year and Australian Business Woman of the Year, and was made a Member of the Order of Australia in the 2019 Australia Day Honours List. Her best known books include Trump Studies (2018), Digital Dieting (2013) and the University of Google (2008).
