CTLE 2017 Spring Workshop Series- Knowing Our Expectations: A Conversation between Macau Tertiary and Secondary Educators

Knowing Our Expectations: A Conversation between Macau Tertiary and Secondary Educators

The work of tertiary and secondary school teachers is highly connected. In a small city like Macau, the student groups that both sectors serve share many of the same challenges, restrictions, and hopes. Despite what the two sectors have in common, there have been few public instances where an open exchange of ideas take place. This panel discussion, organized by University of Macau’s Centre for Teaching and Learning Enhancement (CTLE) and the Macau Association for the Advancement of English Language Teachers (MAELT), has invited four educators from secondary and tertiary institutions to share their experiences, views, expectations, and questions about Macau students. Topics such as student motivation, student learning styles, curriculum design, and the teaching of transferable skills will be discussed. All educators from Macau are welcome. Participants will leave with insights about expectations of teachers from both the tertiary and secondary sectors.
