Meet the UM Faculty: Dr. Zihao (Michael) LI – Silver Award Winner, International Outstanding e-Learning Awards

University of Macau (UM) Faculty of Education (FED) teacher Dr. Zihao LI (Michael) recently received the Silver Award from the International Outstanding e-Learning Awards given by University of Hong Kong’s e-Learning Development Laboratory.  The e-Learning awards internationally recognize and promote innovations in e-learning pedagogy through best practice sharing and building a community of practice among international schools and universities who are proactive in e-learning development.  E-Learning at UM is in an early stage as academic staff work to better integrate Moodle into their classes and the development of blended learning approaches in a few classes across the University.  Michael’s early adoption of technology for engaging and motivating students and enhancing learning, serves as a model for many at UM.  In this interview Michael shares his stories and teaching experiences in UM and points out that every teacher needs to find the best way(s) to teach that works for both the teacher and his/her students.  To see more about Michael’s authentic teaching see Authentic Teaching – Authentic Learning at UM.
